Role overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Network Engineer to join our client's Mainframe Division. This division is responsible for the operation of the group's IS Infrastructure in relation to Mainframe systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in network and flow administration within the z/OS platform, working with cutting-edge technologies and ensuring optimal performance of communication servers and network services.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in network projects related to z/OS platforms.
- Assist in the validation and production deployment of new versions of communication server software on z/OS,including TPX harmonisation and FTP security, Telnet3270.
- Configure and implement communication software functions on z/OS (VTAM/TCPIP/NVAS/CA-TPX).
- Configure and implement Infoprint Server and CA Spool printing software on z/OS.
- Propose solutions to improve the architecture of logical network environments on Mainframe systems.
- Take part in the on-call duties as part of the mainframe network team, ensuring 24/7 operational support
Skills and Experience:
Essential Technologies:
- Communication Server Software for z/OS (VTAM/TCPIP)
- AT-TLS Configuration for z/OS
- z/OS & Network Architecture
Optional Technologies:
- INFOPRINT
- CASPOOL
- Knowledge of OSA cards and mainframe network architecture
- Installation and Migration of TPX
Languages:
- English (fluent, both written and spoken)
